Engine stand?
tinman - March 6th, 2008 at 12:13 PM

Hi,
I was reading through the latest Super Cheap catalogue sale starts 05/03/08 and I was wondering if anyone knew if the engine stand that is in there would fit a type 1 engine?

The stand is on page 10 and is $57 item code is PLU110319.

I've measured the bolt holes in the engine and will head out but just wondered if anyone knew because the people in the store won't have any idea.

Hope you can help.

I've got a couple of the engine stands from Hare & Forbes at Nth Parra. I paid $65 ea - but they have their annual sale this weekend. I think they are $55 this weekend. They adjust to fit anything - you just need to get the right length bolts (try Lee Bros in Dunlop St).

I'm using both my stands as a car rotisserie atm

I have an engine stand head for VW engines which should fit the hole in the Hafco stand. Give me a call if you are interested as you are "just down the road"!

Thanks guys, I think I'll check out the Hare & Forbes place at North Parra tomorrow. I've been meaning to get into there for ages so this gives me a good excuse.

Any idea what the size bolts are I'll need to ask for at Lee Bros?

Thanks Dallas, see you then.

Just wanted to say thanks to Dallas for the engine stand. It's great to be able to get the engine up off the floor and be able to wheel it around the garage.
Thanks again for the stand and the oil changing piece you threw in.
