Hi guys,
I need some brake pads for my 2 pin ATE Callipers and according to the Bendix catalogue they are part number DB15.
What are my choices and costs of pads? So far Bendix are the only manufacturer I've found that make them and they are $80 a set. On all my other cars
I user Fereodos that are $40 a set but Ferodo don't seem to make beetle pads.
Any thoughts appreciated.
I dont think theres any choice anymore there all the same compound unless you find some old stock
I've got EBC "Green Stuff" ( http://www.ebcbrakes.com.au ) pads to go into the
twin pin ATE's I have on Jezebel, which were $110 (ish) from Slacks Creek Brake & Clutch.
They're a performance pad but also suitable for street use.
They get pretty good reviews, but don't have personal experience since haven't put them in as yet since am possibly going 944T brakes sooner rather
than later...
Should be able to get a better price than that on the ATE's.
Why do shops have to make nearly 100%?
Last set I bought cost around the $50 mark.(Shop would add 20% which is fair for their effort I think)
A performance pad is going to be expensive, so you would expect to pay a bit more.
I don't mind paying a fair price for something, but some shops are just greedy.
Hell, you can buy a whole caliper with pads for around 100!
Rodney had some for $85.
My thoughts exactly. A set of pads for the front of my Subaru cost $40 and the pad area is 3-4 times the size of the beetle pads yet the beetle pads
cost twice as much, hence this post.
So where should I be buying general use / street compound pads from? Don't need anythign fancy.
