A NEWBIE to VW's ....so don;t throw too many stones ....what other wheel profile has has the same stud pattern as a 1976 Beetle ?....I want to fit "Nice" wheels (mags) specfically ...without the "apparent hassles" I've been told it takes to do that....also, is it OK to remove the "running boards" from the car and use it without them?...thnx in advance for your replies ....cheers ....vikk777:blush:

hate to be the bearer of bad news but the bugs 4 x130 is only used on the vws of that era. but there are some nice rims out there in that stud pattern. you can always change stud pattern

You say 1976 - but is it a Super (struts) or a standard (beam front end)

check out CIP in USA, they are a great reference guide, most of the wheels can be bought here.... but saying that it was cheaper to buy them in the USA even with shipping.

http://www2.cip1.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=wheels
just check which year and model for each wheel, i just did a general search.

yeah 12volt beetles, type3s and KGs were the only car sthat use 4x130 so if ur checking the 2nd hand market the ROH line up (hotwires, globes, hurricanes etc) are ur only real hope
and i wouldnt put any them in the "nice" basket

newer stuff availble are empi 8 spokers and minilites are a nice rim
or Vforces formular Vee spiders are pretty snazzy looking
but yea easiest way is to change the stud pattern
that opens up endless avenues of rims
