Hello guys...

I got myself the 1600 kombibox, the shifter rod adapter, full mounting kit and appropriate axles/cv's...

I just need to cut/grind above the stock hole for where the front of the gearbox goes into the chassis so i can bolt the shifter rod adapter to the gearbox.

Was just not 100% sure where to cut and how big, and wondering if any of you people out there might have some pics of the cut done or rough measurements, or perhaps instructions.

Do i just need to cut the chassis and not the body? (its a 69' baja). Its not structural strengthening point i will be cutting out right?

Can i just seal the rest of the hole with silicone once finished?

Its all that baffling me. I checked and searched avd for anything about it, as well as google, and i been having trouble.

Be carful because there is a brake line right there under the body work.

I cut out a square that is about 150mm square.
Yours may need more...or less.

The pan its self needed nothing removed,
but the body did.

My tranny has a berg kit that keeps everything inside the pan but your tranny snout will sit ABOVE the original one.

I would start with a narrow strip about 50mm wide,
and gradually remove the minimum material
until the whole unit is far enough forward.

DONT FORGET THE BRAKE LINE IS UNDER THERE!!!

You can seal it up with silicone if you only cut the bare minimum of material,
but it would be nice to cover it witha little tin hat.
