pressure plate difference
pod - April 19th, 2008 at 06:33 PM

is there any difference with using these 2 different pressure plates, old one is on the left ,new one i had of a 1200 motor i have sitting around, changing as the old one keeps losing its springiness on longer runs(think its losing its height) ,plus motor had to come out as the throw out bearing came unhooked after changing the clutch cable(doh):grind::mad:

no difference

diaphram one is the updated model, smoother operation too

put a big dob of silicon on the bearing keeper pins where they go into the throw out bearing itself, to keep em in

Mate, I can't see how the clips would fall off during a cable replace, UNLESS:
(a) the return spring is stuffed, causing the bearing to flutter
(b) the holes for the clips on the bearing spigots have "ovalled" out causing the pins to fall out.
(c) the "cut-outs" on the yoke that push the bearing have worn making the pins a sloppy fit.
If motor is down best check & replace as necessary
