Any good reliable solutions? Besides dynamat.

I've heard that people fill the roof pillars/tubes with foam from the engine end to reduce the amount of noise inside the cab. Has anyone done this and was it any good? Would that cause moisture issues??

filling the pillars is a good solution for rust!

..........i imagine you will have a speaker rack behind the back seat, line it with sound proof material and get a decent, solid firewall in the engine bay.

Did you use dynamat for the fire wall only? Was going to use it all over, but then i wouldn't be able to get to my pan to do repairs, or fish oil it etc...

nope, nothing in those pillars.

my firewall is solid stainless sheet, but with bus sound deadner behind, as well as two layers of original VW sound barrier in parcel area.............the speaker rack makes a huge difference.

i don't think the dynomat on the floor would make much difference to the engine noise........

yeh, the paint looks avergae in photos, but out and about it looks the goods.

I've got a stainless sheet in front of my fire waill also, hoping it doesn't case heating issues due to the reduced space behind the engine. I've got the firewaill sound barrier behind the stainless sheet aswell. So you reacken dynomat the inside of the fire wall and that'll work fine?

What about using felt? Anyone done that?

BTW Dumone, love your ride, saw it at bug-in ( as you were driving back up the dirt road traveling at 5kph!) looked the goods. Didn't get to see you lap dash it though.
