there are Short and Tall mainfolds for Webbers
And straight and offset too
.
Where does one buy manifolds for webers? Can you just buy the manifolds, or get them made? Which work best? Mine rub on the side of the engine bay
(just), and are the short bendy type.

dave will tell you Vintage
short and tall fit into a beetle engine bay.
You can get a variety of manifolds from a variety of suppliers.
Usually they will all have a 48mm opening in the top so that they fit 40,44 & 48mm IDFs. Try and get some that are the same size as your carbs.
Changing manifolds is annoying because you end up having to either clearence the linkage from the fan housing and/or the air cleaners from the
decklid.
Then it gets difficult to get at the idle jets.
Good luck.
Thanks guys. I already had to change my fan housing to an early (type 36hp) one because the linkage wouldn't clear the heater pipes/hoses on the old one. Hopefully if I get taller manifolds i can put on my other fan housing with the heater pipes and the linkage will run across the top of it... I also have the tinware that fits the other fan housing with holes everywhere (for the heater) so now the weather is warming up I either have to block all the holes or do the above...
QUICK......
Here is an eday link for some gene berg IDF manifolds....going cheap. You would nearly land them under $100.
Hope this helps...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7923721035&category=36474&sspagename=WDVW
