beetle brake repairs
Badassbug - June 3rd, 2003 at 04:28 PM

Can someone tell me what I should expect to pay to get the brakes done on an L bug? I am told I require supply and fitting of new :

Front discs and pads
Rear drums
Rear shoes (ALL NEW PARTS)
Rear cylinders

The quote I got seemed a bit steep. anyone have a rough guestimate? Am in Toowoomba but often find Brisbane cheaper. Also, any ideas where? Otherwise I'll do it myself - it's not very hard is it?

If your asking this question then i dont think you should be attempting a brake job on yr car,
when it could save your life and that of some one elses.

I don't know the condition of the car but ,I would get more quotes. Brakes are nothing to skimp on but who ever quoted you certainly didn't miss any components out.:D

Thanks. Gives me some idea.

VW54, I don't think I will do it myself although I have done the front myself before just not the back. Ya got me when I had the sh!ts about not knowing a decent mechanic that I trusted. Each one I have been to I have had bad experiences with (that's why I was thinking of doing it myself). Anyone know of one in Toowoomba? Maybe I haven't found the right one yet.
