3 speed for drags?

has anyone tried to gear their vw using only 1,2,3 to go thru the traps at high revs in 3. if so how u go, how much diff in times would it make. any
info appreciated

if you got four gears, use them! I think I used to pass through 400m at 5000-ish rpm in third with standard 4.1 gearing and a 205/60x15... not sure...

yeah over 400m you would have to use 4th
over 200 m with big wheels and big ratio you might not hit 4th?
glen 5000 rpm in 4th and a time of 2 minutes

I ran a stock geared box with my 2276, 13.9 in the 1/4@ 95mph, roughly 7000 rpm through the lights. Gained roughly half a second going to a close
ratio box with no other changes.
