Lambda Probe
vwxyz - January 8th, 2009 at 08:07 AM

Hello,

How much would a genuine VW part cost for a Golf 2.0 SE (2002, Auto)?

The problem is fuel consumption & smell (a few days after a standard service, I should add).

The dealer has diagnosed it as a Lambda Probe problem. From my brief research using Google, the price of this part is substantially different to what the dealer is quoting and I need to confirm.

TIA.

make some phone calls. euro-spares etc. or try posting on the watercooled site. much better chance of getting an accurate answer elsewhere.

Hi and thanks.

I have tried to call and most are closed till the 12th or later.

It seems however that I have no option but to settle for the dealer's quote; the people I was able to speak to this morning have indicated a price that is within $100 of the quote and it has to be a VW genuine part.

All up, to replace and clean the upper engine it's going to cost around $900 inc GST.

I am hoping that someone here may be able to give me an indication.

Thanks once again.

you could try calling Muller & Muller or Brooky Spares (they are in Sydney) and see what they would quote for a 2nd hand one

Sorry, my knowledge of cars is basic, just relaying what they've said to me.

I am in Melbourne and I did call Volkspower from the adv on this board but they're coming back on the 19th.

Bizarre, I'll give your suggestions a call.

Bond, is that a store in Oz? I wasn't able to find a number for them.
