hello all,
i have a vacume advance dizzy believed to be out of a late 70's manual beetle,i'm putting it in a stock 1600tp with a 34 pict-3
what should i set timing at and should i disconnect the vac hose and plug it or leave it connected
heres the numbers stamped on the side
JFUD4
bosch / 0 231 168 001
vw/ 043 905 205 B
thanks again
leave the hose where it is and as for and set the points gap at 16 though and start the timing at 7 though from then on its a matter of fuel and
timing
good luck.if you block the advance hose you will never get it to run
Yes,
leave the vacuum hose connected for the advance...
that should work better than the 009 distributor...
points 016" or .4mm Gap
timing should be about 7 1/2 degrees BTDC...
now some books say hose OFF...
to set the timing with a strobe lamp...
this may be OK for idling???
