Windscreen scratch removal

Good day all, just a quick question.
Is there a way of removing wiper 'rainbow' scratches from the windscreen?

Only one way to fix is to replace the glass with a new one
theres NO way of Polishing or trying to blend

Get a new windscreen, with a genuine seal (very important)
The seals that the franchise windscreen places use these days are rubbish, had two start leaking after 12 months,
A good time to replace you wiper blades as well.

If you are insured with Shannons, you would get a free glass replacement.

I saw some scratch repair kits on Ebay and wondered how effective they were or if there was another DIY way to do it. The screen was second hand
and has some really light marks. Its not that big of a deal but if they could polish out that would be great.

theres NO such thing as a genuine VW seal
You must have fitted the after market one incorrectly as they never leak unless theres dirt on the glass or something wrong with the body work
around the screen hole
I must have fitted hundreds over the years
WCM is the best after market seal avaialble

Cool, ya just saved me $40.
There only really light scratches so I will just put up with it until it breaks. And make sure I am insured.
Thanks all.

This is my experience from Windscreen's O'Brian fitting glass, didn't fit it myself,

I have heard thar if you put enough effort into it slight scratches can be removed with jewlers rouge but where you get it I can't say.

I don't really believe you can remove scratches in glass..
Your windscreen is probably made from armored glass
it will be written on the windscreen..
if its not its laminated glass...
Windscreens leaking...
unless the windscreen rubber is still soft and NOT hard
Your windscreen will not leak...
I used to use mastic or windscreen sealant years ago
but don't use anything now... as I used all new rubbers..
from CIP1... made in the uSA.. excellent.. NOT WCM..
actually a windscreen Normally will not Leak...
its the Rubber that leaks...
so if its still supple and soft it will seal...
if its old and hard... it can't seal....
go all around the outside of the rubber with silastic nozzle just stuck under the rubber... wipe any excess off...
if it still leaks then You will need to go around the glass with the silastic....
cheers
