Okay - am still trying to fix the missing in the c/buggy. Started off by fixing all the exhaust leaks and that was done and still not running
properly, popping and backfiring - so thought would check the valves and progress from there.
BUT
I checked No 1 inlet and that was fine, then found that No 1 exhaust valve is sticking and even with the adjuster screw removed I cannot get any blade
through. I know that the exhaust valves tends to wear quicker than the inlets and run hotter etc but does anyone have any trick to unstick the valve.
I suspect that I will have to pull the motor, as it is fairly tight to take the head off. But thought someone might have a handy hint.
I was hoping to have it fixed for Dubs this weekend, but not likely if I have to pull the engine.
Any suggestions..
Cheers
Peter
If you have no clearance at all or adjustment I would guess that you have a receded valve seat or a valve stem stretching which shortly after becomes a dropped valve head causing untold damage.i suggest you pull the motor and find out which it is before demolition. Cheers Les

Not stuck valve.
Remove the head, most likely valve seat receeding.
What are the symptoms of a sticking valve?
Thanks
