cleaning t3 carbies for t1 upright in kombi
koolkarmakombi - June 16th, 2003 at 10:00 AM

Have two pairs of t3 twin carbs, looks like an earlier and later versions. Plan is to fit them to my bus with a t3 dizzy to up the power and torque a bit. Have the 34pict3 at the moment. What do ppl use as a good soaking cleaner to dip the carbs in to bring em up nice and shiny like the shops do?

Any war stories of fitting these carbs welcome

you can soak them in paint thinners or an aerosol can of carb cleaner is the bees knees. Dont drip carb cleaner on your left front guard as I did. :(

You will probably need to modify your fan housing to get them to fit. Have installed type 3 carbs on a dual port in a 65 beetle and it was a very tight fit. Linkage can be a pain aswell.... good luck;)
