Hi

I want to put New bearings in my alternator

anyone have an exploded view of the Bosch Alternator used on beetle type 1 engines?

anyone know what bearings are used?

Lee,

This is from a Type II upright engine, should be the same. There's no descriptions to name the numbered parts but it should give you an idea of how to dissassemble.

Thanks Matt

that will make it easier...

I did read somewhere that the bearings are hard to get???

I would think they would be standard Metric bearings...
like 6202ZZ or 6203ZZ etc...

cheers

Lee,

Once you get the bearings out, the local bearing mob should be able to measure them up and if not in stock, order them in. (you should be able to specify quality while you're at it)

If nothing local Newie isn't too far away

Stuff like that is quite often better sourced from a quality bearing supplier than Chinese "knock off's " from some VW suppliers.

Matt.
