Once in a while when stopped at lights you sometimes feel the break pedal go down more. I was told this could be the master cylinder going, have
checked all the brakes they are new and seem fine. Anyone have any ideas what this may be and if it is a master cylinder what are they worth new or
reconditioned for a 1976 Kombi.
Tks

do you have to pump the pedal up at all?
like you may have air in the lines
or you may have a small leak somewhere? hows the fluid level? going down at all..
check out these things before you goto master cyc as that will be the final link in the chain and from memory not cheap to replace..
If the brake pedal is creeping at the lights, then the master cylinder will be bypassing fluid past the cups. It may just be crap in the brake fluid,
or the master cylinder might need replacing.
If the master cylinder is leaking, you wont see it, as it leaks into the brake booster. To check this, unbolt the two nuts holding the master cylinder
to the booster and pull the master cylinder away from the booster, if there is any fluid in there the master cylinder is leaking.
Thanks guys have checked everything out seems ok last 3 days no problems see how I go fingers crossed
