Rear Tyres
_me_ - April 20th, 2009 at 09:50 AM

Time to get some new rear tyres for my bug. The rain this weekend made the back end slide going round corners...

You guys got any info on whats good, what to avoid? and $$$ i'm expecting to pay? - I run my bug as a daily driver so need something for that...

Currently have Hancock 15" 195/65s on the rear...

thanks in advance

what rims?

please tell me that 195/65s are fitted on wider rims not stock pizza cutters.....

that is way to wide for stock 4 and 4.5" rims

you can safely get away with 185/60s on stock 4.5", i had that on front of my bug for a while but a freinds 63 has them on the stock 4" and theyre really to wide for that width, the walls are really ballooned out on it

Joel is right, they are too wide for std rims as well as ballooning they suck up in the centre giving less road contact and more roll on the rims under cornering.there are plenty of good rims and tyres available at reasonable prices.

I used to run 245/60/15 on my 65 VWFREAK Beetle and the rear end never stepped out once without a reason :D

Glad to see that you did have a set of decent wheels that suited the tyre size.Bug looks nice too.Cheers

Road looks dry, now I'm trying to figure the relationship between the car and the double lines, cool looking bug tho.
