Installing Ragtop

Do I need to have an engineer's inspection done on my '63 bug after I cut the roof to install a Golde sunroof? How would they know if I had done it?
If it does need inspection, is that just done by a regular mechanic or someone more highly qualified?
And most importantly, how much would it cost?

yes how would they know unless it dont look stock
dont worry about the inspection as its only body work

nope if its a origional Ragtop then its before May 66 and cars never had VIN plates back then only the chassis number and an ID plate in the
wheel wheel which has proberly been lost over the years anyway

dave, at least some ragtops had body numbers along the lines of SR****
