As the title asks, what is the difference between these two types of webbers (IDF & IDA). Is one more suited towards the street or track ?????
Thanks, Kevin
simply put:
IDF=street
IDA= strip
what are they Kev IDA or IDF ???
Thank God they are IDF's (48mm), Yeah !
Although I have a pair of 40mm DRLA Dellortos, what do you think would be better and why. Engine is a 2180.
Ta, Kev
Nothing wrong with IDA's on the street if they are set up right, in fact I like them better than IDF's, easier to tune, all jets are accessable from the top, and they don't block idle jets like the IDF's do.......... and they look way cooler
what about DCN webers compared to the other types
the DCNs are OK but for power its either IDA or IDF
matter of opinion I guess but 4 me
DCN's are next to useless
I prefer the IDA's, of course they do have idle circuits
just not as many progression ports but thats easy fixed
Whats wrong with DCNs, Brian?
as u say matter of opinion
i swear by DCN /DCNF, ive run them on plenty of engines in single and twins i find them alot more user freindly and easier to setup than IDFs
my only complaint is the small fuel bowls
I second that...
Material really bad
design same
main jets in the bottom of the bowls really sux
etc
The more modern DCNF carb is totally different , both in design and material
they work well
Could not agree more Dave.
I love my IDA,s
