Hi guys, I have a late model twin port 1600 with the oil cooler that sits out of the doghouse shroud. Am I safe to drill on the generator and coil side of the doghouse shroud to fit a custom oil catch can without worrying about drilling into the oil cooler? I'm going to use small short self-tapping screws...

in the coil area u wont go into any bar possibly the air deflectors if u get the angle wrong but u can see where all the spot welds are

question tho, why are u bothering to fit a catch can to a vw??

to vent the crankcase. People usually fit the Empi type little crank breather box. I got a custom one that I think looks better and more unique.
