Hi all,
I have a 1600 sp engine with a 30 PICT-2 carby and was wondering if a 34 PICT carby would fit on it? My engine number is #AD 14 1851 if that
helps...
Cheers!
Anthony
Hiya Anthony,
The 34PICT3 was designed to sit atop a dual port engine. You are a lot better off using your 30PICT2, any of the 30PICT series carburetors, or a
30/31.
Any of these carburetors are a direct bolt-up to the single port intake manifold you are now running. The 34PICT3 will need a larger manifold flange
plate.
Finally, it's interesting to note that your engine was originally a dual port but, at some time in its history has been changed to a single port
configuration.
Hi Mike! are you serious!? How can you tell it was once a dual port? Because of the engine number? How strange..... Wonder what the logic was
behind the conversion. I'd rather it be a dual port any day.
Thanks for the Carby info. I just saw a real nice clean one going cheap and thought it might be a step up...as long as it fit
Thanks for your help mate.
