Slightly annoying...
Replaced the sump seal and one rocker gasket due to oil dripping on the driveway.
Cured it for a few days and now back to dripping of the hex nuts near the drain plug and the rocker cover again.
When i replaced them i was advised that a smear of oil to make the seal was enough, but now i'm convinced its not!
What do you guys use when replacing seals?
I don't mind a few drips but my driveway is starting to resemble some sort of modern art!
Also, do i have to buy more seals or can i reuse the one's i've recently replaced?
Ta
do u have the blank nuts and copper washer on the six x 6mm oil cover studs ???

Also known as an acorn nut
Let the engine breathe... I put a breather box on mine and vented the tappet covers into the breather box using 1/4" hose and it did nothing, I then changed the hose and fittings to 1/2" and BAM! Didn't leak a drop for about 3 months until my breather box blocked up again. give it a go. It worked for me.
unless u got bad blow by stock breather works well on a stock engine
all ive ever done with the rocker covers is glued the gasket to the rocker cover with sealant and make sure to oil the head to gasket side
if theres good tension on the bales they wont leak

does the stud stick through the nut ???
pull the genny stand off and wash out the breather as it may be blocked and not allowing the engine to vent pressure therefore causing oil leaks
Stud not sticking through the nut.
Pulling the genny / cleaning the breather.....is that easy to do?
The breather is behind the genny?
Any pics / info i can see?
Thx
