Hi all,
We decided to spend our public holiday this week working on the baja since it's been largely neglected for the past month or so, when we fired it up
it took a bit to get started which isn't unusual, however once it did start it died after about 20-30seconds... just shut down as though the ignition
had been switched off. It started back up again easily, ran for another 20-30sec then died again... I discounted fuel as being the problem because
when it stalled, it did so almost instantly, not a slow death so to speak. We checked all the obvious things like bad earths on the coil, ignition
etc, we tried swapping in another coil just in case, but that didn't help. The distributor on it is a 009 i'm told, there's definately no points in
there, so i can see it's not standard. There's also no seperate ignitor, so we couldn't check that. Someone at work mentioned that it might have a
oil pressure cut off switch which may be causing us grief, but i wouldn't know where to look for it. It needs an oil change so maybe we can start
there.
Has anyone got any suggestions we might be able to try?
Cheers
Gerrard
the dizzy must have electric converson if you can get another dizzy to try it may help i have had 2 of those ignitions go south on me its a good place to start

When it dies check if it still has spark,it may be a blocked fuel filter allowing a little fuel through or the fuel pump may not be delivering sufficient fuel.
