dropping the arse

i want to drop the arse of my 1960 bug
what is the spline to measurement ratio??
e.g 1 spline =1 inch
any links to info would help

there are two sets of splines...
inner and outer...
one larger and one smaller in teeth

so You can go up two large splines and down 3 small splines..

this is an example only as I've never ever done the lowering Myself...

I have seen it written somewhere....

I'll check out some of My VW manuals...

one spline on the inner end makes 9 degrees change.
one spline on the outer end in opposite direction makes 8 deg.10' that means, you can work with the increments of 0 deg.50'... going up or down is given by rotational direction of inner end..
