Is there a way to stop a leaking pushrod tube on a 36hp engine without pulling the engine out and taking the heads off?
Thanks
Steve
nope has to be replaced with new one and seals engine out heads OFF
IF you got the tools (torque wrench and sockets)
You could have it organised in a whole morning easily. The seals cost next to nothing either.
dont forget the seals and tubes are completely different to later engines not same size

Yes much smaller seal.
Youn could always make some.
There are various aluminium tubes that slide within each other.
You can machine a step on each end for the seals,
and flare the larger tube to accept another seal in the middle.
a circlip and a spring to keep the tension on the seals.
Just like the pauter ones in this link:

You will need to remove the cylinder heads as the seals go as hard as a rock over time.If you need the seals or a gasket set I have both.Cheers Les
