Re-Fitting Engine
clinker42 - October 11th, 2009 at 02:47 PM

Hi Guys

I pulled the engine and rebuilt it and sent some parts of for powder coating and chrome. Problem is, the exhaust and inlet and heater system isnt finished yet.

So my question is

The engine now is a long motor with clutch, so If i fit that, can i then add the heating and exhausts, by that I mean all those plates and boxes and that big fan shroud part and associated parts, or is it too much hard work or not even possible.

Thanks Trevor

Possible but a PITA to do in-car.

I have fitted the shroud/gen tin wear etc. both ways and engine out of the car is way easier. You also get a better view to inspect your work, and no sore back!

Mega keen to get it together hey?
I don't blame ya.

I remember working on the 1500 semi auto when it was fitted. although a baja and chopped, which made it ALOT easier, seeing whats going on from behind etc and around was not really.... hard, but still annoying.

Now workin on the 1600tp on my bare floor pan, having full 360 degree access around the motor is brilliant and alot more productive. keep up the patience! If its possible... cause its like being a kid with a bowl of candy in front of ya that you just can't touch...
