longer hand brake cables and tubes?
Anthiron - October 13th, 2009 at 05:44 PM

i think i may have found the reason or some of the reason im getting weird noises from the rear end of my baja.

i now have long axles but still have the old hand brake cables and tubes. ive noticed that the cables are acting like a limiting strap on the spring plate. just before they reach the bump stop.

i take it there are longer items available? where can i get them and how easy are they to fit? how do you locate the cables through the tunnel?

type 3 and split kombi is longer, pretty sure i kept the standard bug ones on my long axle swap overs though.

I can see whats happening...
as You have said.... not good...
maybe type 3 handbrake cables would do the trick..
check out CIP1 or other US sites they usually have the length of the cables...

The other answer is to relocate Your hand brake back a few inches... and lengthen the handbrake handle..
that sounds a lot easier to me.... lol

best of luck

Lee

PS: Cables can drive you crazy.. too long or short.... lol
