Afternoon all, i have been throwing this debate around in my head for a while, I haven't actually called anywhere that will rebuild but i do have a
rebuild kit here.
Does anyone have any ideas, i was just going to rebuild my original carbi but then saw a shiny new pict 34 and thought i may as well buy a new one.
Any comments?
I was very happy getting a 34 Pict rebuilt
Included new bushes
Wasnt cheap at $200 but was worth it
old rebuilt 34 pict = quality and reliability, "new" 34 pict = made out of inferior material and nasty, the expression not worth a wank comes to mind here, just my 2 cents worth
I had the carby on my old bug (can't remember exact model but it was a solex) rebuilt by a mob at Marion - Finniss St I think or just off it. Can't
recall the name. It was in 2001 and cost me about $130-$140. Dunno if that's any help though
Okies thanks guys looks like a rebuilt it is
I will try and taker a look greasykitchen :P thx
I would way rather use a og 34 but I needed a new carb pronto and bought a new 34 Bocar. Been running it for a few months and it seems pretty good to
me. Zero problems. A few little mods and it runs even better. I like it.
Somtimes the og's are beyond a rebuild.

I bought a new one and it works fine. I bought it because it was designed to suit an alternator so I didn't need to bend anything to clear the
alternator.

Incidently, all moving parts on a carby should be lubricated
with oil.. I do mine every few weeks...
wipe them clean and add a drop of oil...
same with the door hinges...
So in your case, Lee, if it moves, lubricate it, if it doesn't, paint it. lol
