ok ...having adj. beam at the front i though that i would lower the car.....and damn it looks real good, but now the problem is my tyres are rubbing
on the guard.i have 165/80 r15 on standard rims, anyone had this problem?....i'd say yes ....what size of tyres would you recommend????
i was thinking 165/55 r15 any comments?ideas?
what wheels do you have on it
I run 195 45 ZR15's on the front of the bus and 195 50 R15's on the rear. They look cool, not sure if you can get 195's on your rims though?
stock rims....but i still need to keep tubes as they are very tired and leak air so can't really go too low profile unless i change the rims....
ok perhaps you could just roll the edges of the guards further under . you can get about 1-2 cms by doing that
i'll go to the tyre shop tomorrow and see what i can find as tyres.....
Mines the same, lowered with one avis adjuster,165-80-15 tyres, your on max size already any wider and you have too change rims, mine rubbed on full lock
so i moved it up a notch,if you go to lower profile tyres your speedo calibration went out the window,to keep the speedo accurate and with lower
profile tyres go to 185-65-15 or 195-65-15 tyres with bigger rims.Or heres a thought go to 14 inch rims and forget about rubbing on guards
forever, trouble is they look like s#it,i now someone who has 6 wide 5 rims and who is open for offers.
I've got 14" rims on the front of mine at the moment, there coming off very soon because they rub and the speedo's out of whack. I'm going back to 15" rims. The best way out is to get the wheel offset towards the centre of the car or narrow the front beam.
By the way, how low are we talking ?.
Everyone who has a low beetle take a measurement from the top of the lip of the front guard to the ground. lets see who has the lowest car.
from guard where it meets runningboard 12cms
it that slammed enough ?
i get a little light scrubbing under extreme cornering, day to day has no effect, except a increased turning circle :bounce

damn go 18's get tha' fat look ...
for real
135's at the front 185's rear! Sould be able to slam it quite low! If you really want low, Narrow the beam, no shock towers, with Dropped
spindles!
N!
From just in front of the running board 11cms to ground. At the moment running 125s on the front on stock rims with tubes.
Mines 15cm at the moment with the 14" rims with 195 tyres and it rubs bad with 2 people. I want to go lower thats why i'm going the cheese
cutters.
found tyres to fit my 15 rims in 4.5 they are 145/65/15 we'll see how it looks like one i got them in......
had a though of getting a different set of rims like chrome replicas in 15x5.5 then i will be able to put real low profile tyres to slam it a bit
more.....lol ...i'll see am not sure if the chromies will suit the car.
the lower the better :P unless its a 4WD hehehehehe
Go stockies and white walls, that would look sweet!
where to get white walls with a low profile????? that is the question, the tyres would need to be at least 65 so i can turn the wheels....
hey 59 BUS - what width are the rims that you're running the 195 45s on?
i havent heard of 195s coming is such a low profile before...
... what sort of tyres are they?
i wanna run something similar on mine
nice n low with narrowed beam and spindles, but dont want the cheese cutter look at the front.
i want lots of grip to make the most of my discs
Golde, I think Continental make a 175/55 That would be a similar profile to a 195/45 but would look better on the front of your beetle.
Sleeper, I know theres a guy in my area that will put whitewalls on your tyres for you, in any size you want. look in hot rod magazines for someone in
your area.
you re turning me on now....
that sounds like what i m after for the front end.
i just gotta figure out how much the empis are gonna widen the front track and how much the narrowed beam is gonna reduce steering.
nahh who cares, i m gonna do it anyway
Like the ad says 'JUST DO IT!' I heard you ordered your front end how narrow are ya goin?
