Shimming Rocker Arms
clinker42 - December 27th, 2009 at 03:05 PM

Hi guys

Do any of you shim the rocker arms on the shaft to get them to run more central on the valve tip. Some of mine are running near the edge and they have the spring washers and two flats washers on each pair. I'm probably being anal but I don't like the idea of them not being centered, that would apply side load which isn't good for guides.

As above but not right in the center, just off center for valve rotation. Loose the wavey washers (they breah and end up in the sump) and shim up with .001-.003" clearance.
