Anyone know how much end float should be on the Dissy

I do ot have any VW specifications ther than the drive that is inserted in the case.
No more than 0.5mm.

I would expect that a WEAR LIMIT of a similar number would be a maximum for the drive shaft that is within the distributor.
..remembering that the aluminium dizzy body will expand at a greater rate than the shaft,
thus reducing this clearance at temperature rises.
there should be at least one shim between the dizzy body and the tang drive.(usually fiber or plastic, but som times steel),
and these are the shims used to control the float.

It should go without saying,
that if there is excessive end float,
that most likely further inspection for other wear will be required, and need to be addressed.
