Scrapers for front "wind-down" windows
djnee - January 2nd, 2010 at 12:13 PM

Im a bit confused with these....

My inners seem ok, but my outers are pretty much non existent.
I have read the thread regarding how to change them, but im a bit confused with what i need as the only ones i can find on the CVD site are for "inside door"

Can anyone find me the outside ones that i need! Or do they come as a set of inner & outer?

Thanks

Bitch of a job.
Quarter vent window needs to come out
It is the whole aluminium surround
You may as well do the whole window kit

Hi
the outers are part of the aluminium strip that goes around the window.. and under the 1/4 window..
the 1/4 window rubber is made from two pieces..
the vertical piece and the L shaped piece..
the top hinge of the 1/4 window needs the rivet removed to allow the rubber to be installed...
the other alternative is to cut the rubber where it goes around the hinge and then superglue the rubber together..
this looks like a good idea to Me... lol

the outer scraper is one of the most difficult things to do..
In My humble Opinion.. I hated it..
the aluminium strip bents quite easily... very easily..
the brazillian clips will break off...
a real pain....

the good news is.... Your inner scraper is OK... lol..

cheers

NNoooooo!
this job sucks hard.
Maybe it just me but I hated doing this job.
I did everthing right except buying quality replacements.
Next time, just wait, your going down damn silly window gizmo.
Watch the clips. They brake really easy.
I ended up using glue on the first one.
Dinted the ill fitting aluminum trim when trying to fit it in the corners and it leaks. I had the doors off the car too.
Stuff it I going to buy some new ones and try again.
Good luck to you.
