Noisy

Hi guys,

I recently replaced the cluth (8"), pressure plate, bearing, seal on my 1.6 gearbox. The earlier cluth was 7" & a smaller sized flywheel was used so it had to be replaced with a larger flywheel to accomodate the 8" cluth (2nd hand flywheel).

After the change there's a rough & rattling noise coming from the gearbox area & it's only there during acceleration & changing gears. No sound when idle or on free gear. Also noticed that the start is rough sounding compared to when i had the earlier flywheel on (i've done the adjustments to the starter position) & btw i'm using a high torque starter (not the standard one).

Could this be due to the 2nd hand flywheel? Unbalanced flywheel? The engine sounds much rougher now & it's not a pleasant drive anymore. Pls help. TQ.

he is talking about the throw out bearing ,and yes motor out is the only way to check, make sure your clutch and pressure plate is tight as well and the flywheel gland nut...

Sounds like major imbalance issues. Is there any possibility the flywheel is coming loose.
