Hi,
I'm just about to rip off my framehead, pull up the floor pans and install new ones, and would love a little advice and confirmation that i'm doing
the right thing...
The reason I'm doing this is the bug has obviously had a bump in the past and lots of the metal work was slightly bent. It all started with me
wanting to replace the front beam, then discovering the frame head was bent and cracked, and it's all just snowballing from there....
There are some photos here..
Any thoughts? Anyone done framehead or pan replacements before?>
Dan
I've done the frame head on the pan I'm building for my Baja just recently.
It was a Superbug pan but has been converted to King and Link now.
It's near the bottom of this page and continued on the following pages.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is the get a straight pan to take measurements off and measure, measure and measure. Then clamp in place
and measure again. Then tack in place and measure a few more times. Then run a few stitch welds and measure again just to make sure. There's 6
different planes that it has to be lined up correctly with and you done want to get it wrong or your car will be crabbing down the road forever.
