just a quick one guys how can i get the oil pump out of a 1600 type 1 engine? The gregorys manual mentions a puller but is there any other alternatives on a saturday afternoon?

you can weld up a "T" from some old head studs and use it like a slide hammer once a nut and weight are added.
The top of the "T" goes into the inlet and outlet holes of the pump, and the shank forms the shaft of a slide hammer.

Depending on how it was sealed when fitted, some careful levering may do the job,
...or i may get you into trouble.

Dont forget to loosen a case half nut above and below the pump.
