Have just purchased a 1500 gearbox. It has been painted black. Does anyone know if this is stock or should it be bare alloy? The s/n starts with AC so I guesss it is a 69 or later box

Prob got a splash of pink on the underside too, if it has never been repainted....I am not joking.

Yep, it does have a small splash of pink

Got no idea about the pink paint but it IS there.
perhaps WESTI's dad was working there at the Melbourne factory,
and that was the twinkle in his eye.
