Jet Sizes
Smiley - February 14th, 2010 at 02:28 PM

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to find what jet sizes I should be running in my Beetle.

Engine is a twin port 1600 with standard cam and everything.
Carby is a twin barrel progressive Weber, the only number I can find written on it is 514 DAC accross the bottom lip and it also has 26 and 27 written on the sides of the barrels respectively.

If anyone can give me any info on how to tune this or roughly what jets I should be running it would be greatly appriecated.

Damn you are pushing my memory
Would be 10 years since i ran mine
Primary
50
135
180

Secondary
55
140
???

Use a washer between your fingers for the "front" mixture screw

Drive on primary and add 5 for secondary - except for airs cause they work backward (remember - bigger opening = more air, not fuel)

Hooray progressive
I had my jet setting as Bizarre mentioned and the secondary air was 170
on my standard motor.
these jets may not be exectly right for your motor but it's close
