stripping tinware
waltermitty - April 21st, 2010 at 09:09 PM

I have a 1600 DP sitting on my bench . Whilst my resto is stalled I wantto strip and restore the tin ware.
It looks like I need to strip the inlet ends and much of the ancillaries to get the tinware off . How far do I need to strip the motor to get it all off? Mitchell

Isn't there also tinware under the cylinders that needs the push rod tubes removed, to remove the tinware.

Dave yeah blast for sure and price up powder coat. Any idea on what thats worth?

I have seen some done black fan shroud and grey for the cylinder / barrel shrouds.

Geff thanks for the offer I am camping at Diamond head over the week end!

Cam yeah there is but It can stay as is this enginew has no oil leaks so i dont wish to upset the sttus quo.
