I just fitted a new single port intake manifold to my 1600mtr only to find that the carby will not go back on as it contacts the generator. I measured the goose neck that the carby attaches to to find that it is about 6mm shorter than the one i took off. The new one also had 2 vacumm attach points that my original one did not have. Is there another inlet manifold i can get or is there a block i can buy to raise the carby the required amount. This is probably a newb question but would appreciate any help offered. Thanks.
there was a spacer that was used just out of interest what did have on before and what carby are you using
Carby is nothing flash . Says its a Solex 30 PICT-2 with an auto choke. This is what was on the beastie but the problem is with the differrnt height on the manifold. Any ideas on where i would get a spacer.
Classic VW sells them..............but I dare say any good vw shop should have them.
thanks ppl. Finally got my head working and cut the flange off the old manifold. Instant spacer just add a bit of filing.
