Tyres for type 3 ???

Need 4 new tires for my '66 type 3 square. any recommendations ie. Brand and where to get them. Im in Bondi!

Is the car lowered??? stock wheels?
165/70/15 is stock , i use 135s on the front and 165s on the rear.

THEY SELL LOTS OF BRANDS...
yOU CAN GET CHEAP CHINESE TYRES...
BUT I WOULDN'T BUY THEM.... $70
BUT... THEY MUST BE APPROVED TO BE SOLD IN AUSTRALIA... SO THEY MUST BE OK...
KOREAN TYRES ARE OK...

I always buy tyres that are good in the wet....
because thats when You really need good tyres...

Awesome thanks!! Its not lowered and they are stock wheels.
Talking to some tire places and one of them said that if you put tubes in a tubeless tire it wears the tube. Has anyone had that experience.
i would only go down that path because the tubeless types are more readily available.

DO NOT USE TUBES.....XXXXXXXXXXX
if a nail goes into a tyre with a tube....
it blows the tube apart....
and the tyre deflates instantly...
and You will be lucky if You stay on the road...
if travelling at highway speeds....
with a tubeless tyre,,, and a nail.. or screw..
it may take a day for the tyre to go flat...
and not FLAT FLAT...

Yes, Tubeless are best on modern rims, BUT...
You may NEED tubes if the rims are not "Tubeless Rims". It may be more dangerous to use tubeless tires on those earlier rims... than to use tubes.
A tube might prevent an instant flat tyre, in certain conditions.
There is an inverted ridge or "hump" where the edge of a tubeless tire sits INTO on the tubeless rim. The changeover was in the early-to-mid 60's
(I don't know when exactly). You can tell instantly in future, by looking, once someone points the diff. out to you. The tubeless type is called
the "J type rim". So if it has "J" next to the rim size stamp it should be right, eg. "4 1/2 J x 15"
If the ridge is definitely absent, ALWAYS USE TUBES!!!
Tubes (of the correct size) can be used in either tube-type or tubeless tires. You probably can't buy tube-type tyres anyway now (except for antique
types). [It was originally recommended that tubes not be used in "tubeless" tires, but it was "allowable".]
We have had ALL sorts of wheel types, & offets, & dates(usually mixtures!) on various cars: beetle wheels on type 3's, & v-v. So you
need to check each "original" steel wheel carefully!

I had to beg the tyre place to put the radial tubless on the 64 Notch for that reason. With normal driving I doubt if I'd roll them off but it is
the law. Tubes in the radials are a pain in the ass!
