What is the correct original carby set up for a 1600TPin a 1972 Type 3 Auto. From memory, I think the left and right are different.

Let me flip through my manual
flip... flip.. flip..... ah ha this the page...
72 you say?
32-34 PDSIT- 2 for the left
32-34 PDSIT- 3 for the right.
Yes the carbs are different units, but so may be the settings (jetting). Do you mean the carbs or the jetting?
This 1600 has always run rich (black smoke). The plugs on the right were burning well but the left ones were very sooted indicating a problem with
the left carb. Pulled the carb off and give it a good clean out. Everything seemed to be ok. I did notice that there is a small pipe on the left
inlet manifold that had no tube going to it? I blocked this up and retuned the carbys. Running abit better but pops when you take your foot off the
accelerator and coast. Turning the mixture screw clockwise is making it rich or lean?Has new plugs and points dwell 51.5. Plug leads look original
though. What is the correct timing for this motor? Engine no. T0931845 and is an auto. Is this the original engine for a 72?
Cheers
that screw is idle mixture only. Have you checked that the choke works properly on the left side? that can make it run rich all the time if it doesn't.
