How much free play should a crank have without the flywheel attached. Does anyone have a copy of engine torques and specs they could email me

0.07 - 0.13mm, if in excess, don't panic, larger shims are available to take up the slack... to a degree.

To answer your question re WITHOUT the flywheel ..... HEAPS! It's whatever the axial clearance is on bearings 2 and 3 and it doesn't really
matter. It's the clearance at bearing 1 when the flywheel is assembled that does matter. That amount given by Chris above.
