What exhuast system to use on a buggy
Surfsup - August 31st, 2010 at 02:40 PM

Hi all, just trying to get some feedback on what exhaust to fit for my buggy, its an 1835 running twin 40 carbs with petronix ignition. I am looking for a 4 into 1 setup thats not too loud (has to get thru vehicle examiners), can anyone recommend anything that is available in oz that performs well and looks good!!!

Cheers

Thanks guys, Donn that looks a bit low for me the way it sits out the back, do you know what type of system they call that? Is it a tuned legth system?.

Bugzla is that an empi you have on yours? Do any of you guys know if these systems have made any difference to performance since fitting them and what were you running before?

Yes it was a bit low, though the buggy is sitting on it's guts, realy a road car not off road. Is it tuned length system ? stuffed if I know, it was on the car when I got it and has only done about 1000 ks, has a nice sound.
It's an Empi, only problem I had with it was it started to develop a crack where the muffler is supported, probably from the fact that I scraped every time I exited or entered my drive, so I had a support patch welded to it, bugger of a job to weld as I think it's ceramic coated.

its not to bad and yes its a empi style exhaust if u have the space put in a trimil cause it has longer runners better for mid to high end, i feel with mine that u seem to run out of puff at the high end but it did feel good on my standard 1600cc motor

I have in stock at the moment 6 different baja or buggy systems . These are from tri-mil , bugpack , empi and latest rage . I cannot post pics but can send directly to you . I have raw or ceramic finish and all are a 4 into 1 collector style that mount the collector just behind the crank pulley and either face directly up or to the right hand side , ROD , 02-42729920 .
