help with a street 2165 parts combo for a bus
cnfabo - September 4th, 2010 at 04:28 PM

a freinds dad wants to build a low revving torque 2165cc for his split bus..doesnt want a revvy donk, just something with low down torque and can tow his dingy around....the budget is enough to build a more hi po motor but dont want to spend it on unecessery items....

so anyone with some good advise about a nice combo on heads, cam, carbs, exaust, etc would be great..we have a rough idea on a combo..

so this is what we are thinking

heads: steve timms stage 1's..but thinking could get away with single hd springs...."maybe to much head"??

case: std mag bored for 94mm

intake: kadrons or 40mm idf or dells

cam: engle 110 with some slr treated lifters
cam gear: ?????
rockers: solid shaft 1.1's
pushrods: steel or ali ??

flywheel: cast or forged stock weight or lightened to 14lbs
crank: 78mm cb race ready

exhaust: merged 1 3/8" quite phat boy

clutch & pressure plate: ????

not sure on which brand of bearings etc to get

If you check on page 4 it gives the specs of the engine in my Kombi. Could not be happier with how smoothly it drives and the power on demand. If you were really keen to have down low as the major priority you would go back to the Engle 100 I think. Not that I am ever unhappy with the down low response of my engine. Good luck - have fun

What about a type 4?
Not sure how that goes in a split
Should imagne fairly easy with an upright conversion??

Holzl (V Force) does a lot of 66 crank x 103 pistons to make a "simple" 2.3L (ish) motor
basically a stock 1.7/1.8 bottom end with a P&C kit

If you are coming to Warwick I can take you for a spin around the block. That speaks more than a thousand words could say. ;)
