Conrod endplay

How much endplay is to much. I have spent a couple of hours balancing rods and pistons till there all perfect. Now i've checked the little end
bearings again and i'm not sure. You can't feel any slop push pull but there is a tiny amount of pistin tilt.

I'm assuming that you're asking about a 69 Bug?
The Gregory's workshop manual for Beetles up to 71 lists the 'Gudgeon pin to bush clearance' as .0002" +.0005" -.0000"
for 1100, 1200, 1200A and 1300-1500 engine sizes.

the piston without any heating of the piston. The condition is quite normal, even when the gudgeion pin should happen to slide out of the piston under

Oversize gudgeon pins (marked green) are available for cases where the bearing limits are exceeded. The practice of heating the piston is permissible
in all cases where no light finger-push fit of the pin is obtained with the piston cold.
The clearance between the gudgeon pin and connecting rod bush is .0001" to .0006". If the clearance is near the wear limit of .0016",
renew the pin and the connecting rod bush. No oversize gudgeon pin should be fitted in this case.
The correct clearance will be indicated by a light finger-push fit with the pin oiled after the piston has been heated to 176 (degrees) F.

Ben, please tell me which part of this information is incorrect or inadequate. Also, where does it tell me how to get to Nambucca?

Thanks guy's. The gudgeons fall through the conrod under their own weight quite easily (dry) gudgeon to piston is good . How do you go about
replacing small end bearings. Don't they have to bee reamed after installation . Sounds expensive for what there worth.

Pin to rod bush is correct. i think it's right on the limit but I might "suck it and see"
