Type 3 side mirror help.

I have acquired a VW LHS mirror for the beast.
Question is how do I go about mounting it?
Is the retainer nut just bogged over? as I dont think you can get behind the hole to put the nut in there.

Hi

Im not sure about Type 3s but Beetles only after 72 had the hole, you can fit one if your prepared to muck around a bit.
