6v radio facelift
warb - July 22nd, 2003 at 01:23 PM

I have a 6v radio, it seems to work ok but it needs a facelift, there is a crack in the plastic front (around the clear station guide) and I’m missing 1 knob, the knob I’m sure I will find a similar set somewhere, I can get the clear insert made up easily. Any ideas or suggestions for fixing up the front? Maybe plastic weld? What’s the best way to clean it up, cheers, RYAN

Can you post a photo so we can see what the crack in the front looks like?

I had a similar face plate.

I glue it back together with 5 minute arlidite on the back side of the plate, then filled with car putty, and painted the face plate with presure pack enamel paint.

turned out great and looks good.

completely agree with 54, but u could also use resin and a sceric of fibreglass on the back if u wanted it to last forever, and u should use a plastic undercoat and filler so that it does not crack when it flexes

a car radio seems to have got in the way of the bamboo place mat you were focussing on
