OK mrs Kombi is kinda sagging at the rear.
Thought i would change the shocks. What shocks people using ?
Want some goods ones that'll take the strain of a heavy rear kombi !!
Any ideas ?
Or just pop down any suspension place see what they have !!!
I put some heavy duty BOGE oil shockers on mine, I couldn,t get Konis at the time, they were my first preference, but there were none in the country
at the time, so the BOGE,s got the run.
Koni's are better, they are adjustable and rebuildable, or if you are rich Bilsteins are the go.
Koni shocks are imported by Proven Products : http://www.proven.com.au
Hope this helps
Rob........
Likewise.
I was recommended Boge's, just haven't installed them yet.
They are original equipment for Kombi's. A little expensive, but supposedly worth it as many Kombi's will still sport their original
ones.

is it a bay? dont u just move the trailing arms up a notch when it sags?
hey
ive been told not to use gas shocks in a kombi! so i guess oil is good!!!
cheers

Yeah it is a bay.
Cool thanks for the advice. I'll have to sort myself out some.
Any opinions on Kofab (? spelling) shockies?
I have used plain old gabriel reds before as the gas charged hi performance shocks on a prev bus made the ride hard as a rock and I used about 1/8th
of the suspension travel.
kkk
my cars soooo low i dont have any suspension tavel but i have holden 1 tonner shocks of the front of mine but just left the monroe gas ones on the
back (need to upgrade one day!)
cheers
rhys
Hey, well picked Rhy's.
I just re-read the question and your right. You adjust the ride height by adjusting the torsion bars. The shocks are for DAMPING only, not changing
ride height.

In regards to shocks.
I put monroe gas in the Kombi and after 30,000km and 14 months LHF had failed completley and the RHR was no longer gas filled.
I go Gabriel and 50,000km and 3 years and they are still ok.
If I had the money I probably would have prefered Koni.
If the rear has sagged, lower the front to suit.
I'd love to lower front but alas mrs wants it like it is !!! Mind you if i had a garage i could sneek it away for a while and drop the front !!!!
adjusting the front on a bay kombi involves welded in adjusters doesn't it???
Not like T3 indexed splines hey
Yeah need adjusters in the beam which alas i dont have !!!
Just pull a spring leaf out, it'll soon sink
Going up is the hard part
