74 Kombi shift coupling
jamsha71 - November 10th, 2010 at 08:44 AM

Hey all,

Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace the shift coupling in a bay window Kombi. I have changed one in a Beetle and it was a piece of cake, but I have read that I may need to remove the engine and transaxle to do the same on a Kombi.

Cheers,

Jamie

Are you guys talking about the coupling or the nylon bushes? There's just one coupling, right?

I'll replace the lot I think, especially if the bushes are so easy.

try to keep the rear metal cage part if it is VW german, the new brazlian and even so called german ones are crapola.

just replace the rubber.

yep if your going to change the rear you might as well change the front bush as well ,it makes a hell of a lot of difference :tu:
