My problem is the speedo stoped working kinda sudden like and now I get a realy loud scraping screeching sound which sounds like the cable is grinding away at something, possibly the outer cable, I have removed the dust cap thingie from the front wheel and undone the end from the speedo but I can't draw the inner cable out of the outer from the wheel end, as it's a buggy I can't get at the speedo end well enough to pull it out from that end. Also the dust cap at the wheel no longer has a square hole in it, seems to be flogged out and when I took the center cap off the rim the dust cap was hanging loose. Am I supposed to be able to remove the inner cable from the outer from either end?
no the inner wont come out from the outer unless it has snapped inside. Sound like the cable has ceased and caused the square hole to strip out and
hence making that sound as the vibrations make
its way up the cable.
Bugger, not what I wanted to hear, looks like I have to lift the body a bit. Thanks vlad
It may also be your speedo drive we had a problem once and it was all in the old speedo drive. ecept you would find if this was the case the speedo
would be bouncing up and down but if it happened suddernly try a new cable.

Solved, Grease cap hanging off and hole flogged out = speedo malfunction, stuffed wheel bearing (big time) = screaching and scraping noise. Moral to
the story, look for the simple things first. Thanks
all for your suggestions.
i forgot about that yeah we have had that problem to when the grease cap wears out round instead of a square. Anyways gladd its fixed and working
again Donn.
